The 115 BHP Model of the 1800 Zetec powered Escort houses its ECU in the passenger footwell, against the left hand inner wall. It can accessed by undoing the plastic srews that hold the panelling on, then drilling the top most rivet, allowing the ECU to slide out. Once it is free, unscrew the connector retaining bolt and you will have access to the ECUs wiring loom.
This guide is for the 115BHP model, which features EEC-V, housed in a 104 pin module, and direct coil control.
