EEC-IV Installation Guide
From M-Tech Automotive
Ford EEC-IV can be identified by the markings on the ECU. This guide applies to the 60-Pin ECU variant, that also uses an External EDIS Module.

If using a V3 ECU setup for EDIS
If you are installing one of our V3 ECUs, and have specifically asked for it to be setup to operate with the factory EDIS module, then you will need to also connect the following wires:
| EEC Pin Number; | EEC Colour | Function | M-Tech Connection |
|---|---|---|---|
| 28 or 56* | Blue/Yellow | EDIS PIP | IGN (Sheilded Grey, Inner White Wire) |
| 36 | Blue/Red | EDIS SAW | Labelled as EDIS SAW (Brown) |
- It may differ on certain vehicles as to where the EDIS PIP wire is connected. In all cases, go by colour, or by metering Pin 1 of the EDIS module to the ECU Loom Plug pins 28 or 56 for continuity.
If using a V3 ECU with Direct Coil Drive or a V4 ECU
You will need to bypass the EDIS module.
To do this, apply a switched 12vDC power feed to the centre wire of the coil pack. The outer two relate to the coil towers they are in line with. Connect Coil A/Coil B of the M-Tech ECU to them. Coil A should drive towers 1 & 4, with coil B driving 2&3.
The crank sensor can also be directly connected to the ECU. This removes the EDIS module completely, and it can now be disconnected from the system.
