M-Tech GC8 Impreza
From M-Tech Automotive
We are building a GC8 Impreza up for competing in the Gurston Down champs. Its more of a background project that doesent recieve as much time as it should, but it is by far having the most random of modifications. We will also be posting the projects progression over on ScoobyNet.

Chassis Preperation
Seam Welding
We followed the 75/25 rule for most of the interior panel joins, and ran 50/50 for the suspension mountings. Also, the press holes were sealed with plates.
Roll Cage Installation
We chose to use a CDS 12 point weld in item from Custom Cages. The cage fit was a littler interesting, but we got there in the end!
After the cage was installed, it was time to prime the entire interior of the car ready for paint. The went on a coat of white :)
Dash and DIS
Special thanks to Raj @ AutoFlock UK for supplying the dashboard for us. It really is a work of art, and something I am putting off fitting till the last minute to avoid damage!

Engine and Transmission
For the engine we are using a fully rebuilt EJ22 running forged internals. To start with, we're aming for 350bhp for the purpose of a shakedown, then with increasing to a larger turbo, and 6-Speed JDM box, aiming for circa 550-600bhp@fly.
We have fitted a reversed inlet manifold to reduce lag due to the front mount cooler, and it runs a Fuel Labs regulator feeding rails fited with 700cc SARD injectors. Aeroquip/JIC fittings are used wherever possible.
Fuel System
Electrics
Engine management will be our V4 EMS, utilising all the features such as launch control, boost control and wideband lambda control.
