02/10/09 | The Car is chosen....

Our Skyline was chosen for the fact of how 'Standard' it is.

The only difference between when this silver R33 GTST rolled out of the factory and how it stands now is a set of alloys and 20,000 miles.

The idea here is to progressively build a more powerful car, whilst retaining the nicities of both an interior, and heaters!

As standard, it made a factory 278bhp on our rolling road which shows that we have a nice strong engine with which to begin playing!

09/12/09 | The Plan

Well its always best to make a list so we can keep track of where we are and where we plan on going!

Firstly, its widely publisized that we can see 500bhp without changing the engine internals or the box. This is as much of an experiment as anything else, so from the top of my head I can assume we are goign to at least need to do the following:

  • Decent Clutch (GTR Item so I am told?)
  • Front Mount Cooler
  • Bigger Injectors
  • Bigger Turbo
  • Standalone Management

This of course isnt taking into account chassis mods such as brakes and suspension. Thats fair enough if we were building a track monster, but remember we are after a 'normal' car with big power. The fact we will have switchable maps and boost control means we can run standard power, with just big power tuning for the sake of it!

14/05/10 | Interior Strip Out

The stock interior has now been binned, and a pair of Sparco buckets fitted. All in anticipation of the 12 point cage to be installed....

29/05/10 | New Clutch Time!

After runing around the car in 'normal' trim, and attending a couple of track days, the clutch has finally let go, so spent this morning getting the box out. The clutch is FUBAR so going for an ACT item.

Also, whilst its in the air I intend to fit an all in one decat+turbo elbow as the standard pipe and cat is still there.
